Blue Reflections is a video installation dealing with technology mesmerization and uneven trades. Digital oceans, captured in Google Earth, are intertwined as glass pieces inside a kaleidoscope, a nineteenth-century technology that still hypnotizes viewers with a visual effect created using a chamber of mirrors.

Named after the Spanish saying “espejitos de colores” (colored mirrors), an apothegm that makes allusion to the exchange of gold for seemingly worthless pieces of colored glasses between Spanish colonizers and native civilizations, the artwork makes reference to the trade of personal information using Google products in order to receive captivating digital experiences.
